This year the General Assembly was hosted by Provincie Noord-Holland in cooperation with Interreg North Sea Programme and NSC.

At the Thursday meeting Commissioner Borg spoke to the GA in Noord-Holland. You find the Commissioner's speech here; Borg speech (external link)

Other news;

Cllr. Rinske Kruisinga and Cllr. Sandy Cluness were reelected as NSC Vice-Presidents for the period 2009-2011.
New members of the Executive Committee was elected, you find the members here;
Resolution on Cod Recovery plan was adopted and has been sent to DG Mare;
NSC will start to prepare for a "North Sea Strategy" and seek cooperation with all relevant stakeholders of the North Sea.

The timetable for North Sea Strategy activities in 2010 are as follows;

17 - 18 March; Stakeholder Conference in Newcastle supported by UK Government and NSC.
13 April; "Europe's macro-region: Integration through territorial co-operation". Hosted by the CoR in Brussels. Information and registration here.
20 May; "Working together to Manage the Resources of the North Sea and Channel, Workshop in Oviedo during Maritime Day.
16 - 17 June; Joint NSC and Interreg seminar in Stavanger
